‘PAINT’ is a on going series of photographs that highlights my latest experimentation with Riesk.

This series is based on the oil paint (Riesk) that I have developed and allows me to make sheets of paint. The quick drying time of the paint captures and reveals the chemical reaction between different types of paint – this resembles natural cell structures as seen under a microscope. These cells are the ‘finger print’ of each individual painting – identity is explored. Within this self-applied mark making, the painting withdraws from the author and enables itself to start a life of its own. By rejecting the apparatus and only working with the sheet of paint, and by using digital photography, I am able to capture the paint in pixel form – questioning the essentials of painting.

‘PAINT’ is available in editions of five. Different size’s are available.
